Episode features Nina who took up metal detecting after her young son found a $5,000 Confederate States army belt buckle in her backyard. She has had incredible luck in her few years as a treasure hunter, including finding over a dozen Gardner exploding bullets dating back to the Civil War. Episode also features archeologist and high school teacher, David Wilson. David shows off his extensive Civil War artifact collection and takes us to an Confederate old earthen fort to hunt for bullets and grape shot.

  • good

  • verry cool nina

  • @geoffleonard wouldn't 65 be LXV? It has been too many years since learning this, but I thought you would have to subtract the lesser numbers from the one on the right, so it would be 50 - 15 = 35, maybe 35 caliber?

  • looks like fun.

  • she checks her holes

  • The bullet she holds at 4:20 that reads 'XVL' = 65, so it probably means it is a .65 caliber bullet... unless it's the year of manufacture (1865) I doubt they would print the year on it though. Looks like the bullet exploded in the barrel too.
