Ahhhh, back in the days where you don't really need paper money notes. Just coins for everything in a tiny gay man coin purse.

This is the hight of film-making of this period. Only in terms of specific famous scenes does Lang's Metropolis (released the same year as this) surpass this movie. In terms of overall acting and cinematography, Sunrise is the most impressive silent film that I've ever seen. Really, it probably was at the top of its art for at least ten years after it was made.

this is my second time watching and its already my favorite movie of ALL TIME! like the other person said: Its got everything.

anyone know what city this was filmed in ?
Most certainly a textbook of silent film techniques, a visual experimentation and the perfect blend of comedy, romance, drama, fantasy, suspense, horror etc. from Murnau. Not to mention, one of the greatest films ever made.
