Tribute video for John Henry, the "steel driving racehorse." Called the Old Man, he lived to the age of 32 before passing away at the Kentucky Horse Park in 2007. He was a mean, nasty, temperamental gelding that received his name for pulling a steel feed tub off the wall of his stall and throwing it at his groom. He raced until the age of nine and retired as the world's richest racehorse, with earnings of over $6 million. He resided at the Kentucky Horse Park's Hall of Champions in his retirement, where I had the privilege of getting to meet him several times in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. His body lies underneath the monument erected to him at the entrance path to the Hall of Champions. Rest in Peace, John.
The song is called 'The Day John Henry Died' from the Drive-By Truckers' album, 'The Dirty South.'

@ruffianruleswolfrule Don't worry, he was 33 years old and died because of the complications of old age. The euthanized him when he began to be in bad pain. He lived a long and happy life. Chris McCarron even came and stayed with him on his final day. Chris said he cried.
RIP John Henry
