I say, what travestie we have here. Proper, proper, proper - everyone, proper! You would not desire me to be 'snooty,' now. Welge weohere, waes thu Thunor hal. Eallmihtige Esaweard. Eotna andsaca. Love the language and am glad it is loved.

It should be pronounced with a 'Geordie' accent. The Geordie dialect contains a lot of Old English and Scandinavian words and pronunciations. For instance, the word 'out' in Old English is oot which is the Geordie word for out. Contemporary English 'I am going out', Old English and Geordie 'Am gaan oot' .
Am gaan oot wiv wor lass and a marras thneet fora bevi. I am going out with my girlfriend and her friends tonight for a drink (alchoholic).

@HawockHain it's the pronunciation.
-
@baceace No, they're fine! I love regional English accents; it just has little to do with the Old English language. I don't understand why this man is allowed to read OE in schools with an accent like this, at ALL.
-
@alexpjp You don't like modern English accents , why?
-
@baceace God forbid for it to sound like the modern English accent either! I think Danish, but with stronger r's and deeper and slightly longer vowels, might be close.
-
@alexpjp I agree but would the modern English accent have sounded anything like it did then, im guessing more German or Scandanavian?
-
His accent is REALLY bad, the r's are too americanized, the h's too soft, the vowels are totally wrong. If he's going to read it to students, he needs to do so in an at least roughly correct accent.
-
I don't know what they're laughing at. It's modern English that is ugly and weird, not old English.
