Fair enough, but why is this event even significant? Doesn't Israel receive a massive amount of extremely sophisticated weaponry from the United States? Didn't Israel use that weaponry to murder 300 children last winter? Why are we not discussing ways in which the international community can intercept these weapons? Why are Lebanese and Palestinians not allowed to seek and receive military aid in their struggles as well, especially considering the blockade of Gaza and occupation of the WB?

You're right, we should be discussing ways in which the international community can intercept these weapons. It must be exceptionally frustrating for international onlookers to see Hezbollah doing this even as the UN recognized in 2000 that Israel has fully met its obligation to withdraw from Lebanon. It must be even more frustrating to see that the UN's relatively hygienic tactics are hopelessly ineffective at curbing this smuggling.

Its simply a scapegoat issue.

There are very very few jews in the world, in comparison to muslim and christian faiths. Therefore it is easy to discriminate against/demonize them. The UN is made up of a majority of muslim nations, they work together and majority rules make UN decisions. This is why the UN hates Israel against all rational thought.

The UN are not good-intentioned people. They are quite capable of finding smuggled weapons when they want to.

It's just that they don't want to.

The UN are just a bunch of Jew-haters. Which does not mean that their hatred is "zoological," i.e. based on hatred itself. It might just as well be for economic reasons, cooperation with the all-important Arab oil states, geopolitical games, etc. But Jew-hatred for these reasons is still Jew-hatred.
