  • I was able to get 1020/1510 on air on my 6970, and worked fine in 3dmark11. The fans were pretty loud though lol. It's fun when you get over P6100.

  • @Kidio007 what cpu do you have?

  • @xIDxGeekTalk i7 920 WC @ 4.5Ghz. Also managed to get P6297 with 1065/1520 on the 6970 on air.

Just have to get the volt up to about 1.32 and make sure the card is cold enough.

  • @Kidio007 you should post a vid

  • Hey mate, I am having a little trouble with overclocking my 6970. Right now it is on air but I have an EK waterblock ready to put on soon. The trouble is it seems even with voltage tweaks etc that my card won't overclock passed around 900 core 1400 mem, much higher on the memory and games lock up after a minute or so and the same with core clocks. It doesn't artifact or anything so do you think it might be just the memory getting to hot? I hope that is all it is because so far I am dissapointed

  • @TheWilfred007 koolance has a nice one

  • Were can i get a water Block for my Asus HD 6970 ??

  • @murilo87s

The ASUS reference card also has the horseman on the box. There aren't as many waterblocks for the Direct Cu cards since they're not reference (I'm assuming they're non-reference, someone correct me if I'm wrong), so a good guess would be that it's stock. Not quite sure why someone would buy the direct CU if they were planning on water cooling since as far as I can tell those cards are made to create better airflow and not to increase the power of the card. Maybe I'm just ignorant.

  • Thanks for the vid. I'm waiting for a couple of EK waterblocks for my ASUS 6970s. What did you end up with for stable settings on yours?

  • Is this direct Cu II version, the one with a horseman in the box?

  • @Battleneter but e stay away from nvidia because they are power consuming cards and give off a lot of heat
