Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Lou Gehrig's Disease
A review of the scientific literature reveals an absence of clinical trials investigating the use of cannabinoids for ALS treatment. However, recent preclinical findings indicate that cannabinoids can delay ALS progression, lending support to anecdotal reports by patients that cannabinoids may be efficacious in moderating the disease's development and in alleviating certain ALS-related symptoms such as pain, appetite loss, depression and drooling.[1]
Writing in the March 2004 issue of the journal Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis & Other Motor Neuron Disorders, investigators at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco reported that the administration of THC both before and after the onset of ALS symptoms staved disease progression and prolonged survival in animals compared to untreated controls.

Prohibition:
"Prohibition...goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded." -- Abraham Lincoln December 1840

@RAINBOWLIZY333 though research supports the assumption that it protects body tissues from oxidative damage it seems to be coming up as a supplement but for internal health mostly. it won't help pain or joint and bone damage nor will it get rid of pain or release muscles from spasm. However, it does look like it is worth trying. But I did note when I looked it up that yeast is mentioned over and over, so I wonder if those who avoid yeast in foods can use the supplement. More info to find!

it's sad that so many drugs that have clinically appropriate uses are villified and illegal simply because some people have abused them. if it weren't for marijuana, we wouldn't have marinol, an excellent antiemetic and appetite stimulant for chemo patients..... cocaine and it's derivatives are great local vasoconstrictors and analgesics... le sigh. and all medicines are "drugs" too, it's just how we choose to use them. let's hope america can be more open minded in the future.
