@jeffmagic32 No I don't. But allowing the private insurers to sell over state lines is not the answer. The answer is to make insurance ILLEGAL! It is a scam and always has been. I can't afford a new car because I have to pay car insurance. Having paid for car insurance since I was 20, I have paid insurance companies enough money to have bought several expensive cars by now. And what have I gotten for my money??? NOTHING! I've been insured while driving...that is all.

Regulated industries always consolidate. Do you honestly think any small insurance providers will survive Obama's "insurance exchange"?

@ulstermandc It is because there are laws against it. Like you said it is their goal to make more money. So they lobby for "tort reform". What will happen if they ever succeed in being able to sell the same policies across state lines is that they will be cheaper....at first. Then after they have undercut the small guys into bankruptcy they will exert their monopolistic power and then you'll need a second job just to pay for health insurance. Why don't people understand this????

@jeffmagic32 Deregulating the market would only make the big guys bigger, and stomp out the little guys. This bs about "tort reform" is an attempt by big insurance companies to do exactly that. Sure, it would allow them to sell policies across state lines, but remember what happened to life insurance policy holders after 9/11? The victim's insurance companies declared bankruptcy and their spouses and kids got NOTHING! What if those companies had policy holders in 3 or more other states?

@Anjimom No it is your punishment for not paying some asshole (whether you are sick or not) to price you out of the ability to pay for health care out of your own pocket! You don't go to the hospital to receive health "insurance" do you? An insurance company gets paid every month by thousands of people whether they are sick or not! This means they can afford to pay several times as much as you for the same services! The "real" answer is making the health insurance "scam" ILLEGAL!

There is nothing wrong with our health care system other than the fact that they are all in the pocket of the insurance companies. This isn't because of some big conspiracy or anything. It is primarily because insurance companies get paid by their thousands of customers whether or not they are sick. Therefore they can afford to pay several times what the actual costs of health services are. Plain and simple. Making the fed an insurance company won't help. It will make it worse.

"Everybody for Himself"....  why don't America puts its money on taking care of americans instead of killing people overseas in the name of hypocrit "American interests".
