CHP Eye in the Sky: Slow Motion California Highway Patrol Aircraft Flyover (Casio EX-F1)

In all the years I've seen those "Speed Checked by Aircraft" signs on the freeways, I had never seen one of those mysterious aircraft until now! Yep - they're really up there keeping an eye on us :-)

The EX-F1 is the only camera with these capabilities for under 10 grand (perhaps even under 50 grand) that I know of. I'm hoping for a new model from Casio with higher resolution in the future, in the same price range! XD The F1's frame sizes are definitely non-standard, and the only way to completely fill a 4:3 or 16:9 frame with them is to upscale and crop the footage. This is always a dilemma with mixed footage formats like this... :-/

Great vid! How do you make it not letter box shaped and keep it from looking stretched? I heard this camera does that. And is this the best camera for slow motion purposes in it's price range?

Scary... It makes sense that they would work in teams by radio like that. I guess we have to adjust the car mirrors to look UP in addition to behind!

@jcmegabyte The cop was parked yes PARKED on an on ramp further down i5, he waited til he saw my car and pulled me over. He asked me if i knew why he was pulling me over and i told him i didnt know but i wasnt speeding when he pulled me over and he replied that the aircraft unit clocked me doing 83 in a 70.... he handed me a ticket and said i should also be recieving something in the mail in 1 to 2 weeks. the actual ticket he gave me didnt have a fee on it...I'm still waiting for it in the mail

The state must be desperate for money to try this hard to give speeding tickets. Why doesn't the CHP go after real violent criminals? Oh wait, probably becase the CHP are the violent criminals.
