Saw this in the convenience store and instantly felt obligated to buy it. おつまみ, or bar snacks, in the form of weensy medallions of salted horse meat. Here's my tasting adventure. A bit long, but it gets more interesting toward the end.

  • Not cool man. Purchasing a product creates the market. So whats next for you,...dog? cat? dolphin? baby seals? How about eating some tofu, veggie or Boca burgers with that beer.

  • @marshaincc I live in Japan. I eat tofu all the time. I eat vegetarian food pretty frequently too. I also enjoy meat. (And sure, I'd probably try dog if I could get over my personal fondness for them as pets. Dolphins? Yeah, I'd try that. Baby seals? I've never seen that one on the menu.) I'm cool with you eating what you want. Leave me alone about what I want to try. Lame responses like this make me sad. I tried horse meat, but it's not a habit. And even if it were - it's my call. Sheesh.

  • please stop eatinq horse ! watch HOW they die on youtube ! and whales are endanqered !

and australians and americans are against it

  • @CripEhtOwt Stop telling me what I can and can't eat. I'm ok with horses being butchered after they die. So far as whales go - you're seriously ignorant if you think "whales are endan[g]ered" - not all whales are, and the kind that I've eaten aren't, so that argument has no bite. I think Australians and Americans who are against it need to get educated. Cracks me up that the same lot were so heavily against cultural imperialism and McDonaldization or Disneyfication of the world....till now.

  • I don't know why everyone says don't eat horse. Horse was eaten in Europe not too long ago.

  • i could never eat a horse ive been with the my whole life

  • It's うまっ!But we say 馬肉... 笑

  • That is nasty

  • There used to be a lot of horse-butchers in France, but because French people being fewer and fewer and invaders being more and more numerous, it is now difficult to find good horse meat.

  • You're crazy man :)

  • @CripEhtOwt What Australians and "Americans" (USA citizens I presume you mean?) do or think is the right thing? Please. Horse and donkey meat is eaten all around the globe, even in America ('cos, you know, Canadians and Latinoamericans ARE americans too) not to talk about Eurasia: Portugal, Italy, Spain, Holland,China... we eat their meat just as you eat rabbits and hares. BTW did you know Japaneses feel terrible about "Americans" eating hare and rabbit, which they see as pets?

  • @marshaincc Some people is so naive about the world... please read, observe, live, and use your brain to reflexionate about your experience and other people's ways of living instead of giving us the stereotypical narrow-minded "OMG WHAT'S NEXT BABY SEALS" comeback. No integral human being can take that kind of speech seriously.

  • I lol'd. The music made this video feel almost adventurous. Anyway, I have no issue with eating any kind of animal, so long as they're treated decently while they're alive. A friend of mine lived in...I think it was Ecuador...where you could go to a restaurant and actually pick a healthy, living cow from a field that you want to eat from. I would prefer that over eating meat from a mystery cow living in filthy conditions, ground up and put into a hamburger.

  • Horse meat is popular in a lot of places in the world, Canada, Holland, middle east, a lot of places around the world.

Fucking Americans are pussies because they grew up watching western movies and started to baby horses.
