@bigknob881 Well, the Leeds v Wolves game was scheduled for the Wednesday after the FA Cup Final. The League switched the date during Cup Final week, claiming certain Leeds players were required for International duty the following weekend. Billy Bremner took a Wolves player to court over bribery allegations, and won. Of course Revie attempted bribery in the past, but those days were probably over by the time he had a good time. There is no precedent for what the League did.

@FrequencyRising a bit of a scam? what are you talking about, the fixture list is the fixture list surely. Fact is derby won the title after playing 40 odd games or whatever it was, cant blame it on one game. And dont forget, revie was alleged to have tried to pay off wolves.

mmmmmm....bit naughty to force Leeds to play against Wolves on the Monday after they had played the FA Cup final, and Wolves had 9 days rest. In that respect, Cloughie was bloody lucky. Maybe Leeds deserved to lose, but methinks this was all a bit of a scam.
