During the mid-1960s, I used to watch Chiller Theatre on WPIX-TV Channel 11 out of New York City. My home in central New Jersey picked up all the New York TV stations, and this one was no exception. I adjusted the rabbit ears on our console TV and sat back to watch the latest 1950s horror film.
Ah, those were the days, when you never really knew what would be shown, and the picture quality depended on the weather.
Those days are long gone, but thanks to modern technology, we can try to recreate those events. I have recreated what a performance on the old Chiller Theatre was like. Its not entirely accurate you may see a website logo appear on some of the TV commercials, but I have tried my best to approximate one of those early TV broadcasts was like. Im going from memory here heck, I was only 7 years old back in 1965. But my memory is pretty good, and I think I got pretty close to it. Sadly YouTube now only allows videos to be 10 minutes or less, so I had to break it up into 10 parts.
So for those of you who would like, sit back for the next hour and a half and watch CHILLER THEATRE THE CYCLOPS.
