I do the acrylic paint thing with my plain white buttons. I have tons of regular old clear or white buttons, so I paint them and add glitter (optional) or EP (just regular, not UT) and use my heat tool to dry it faster. :)

It works really well. I also use a little polyurethane to keep the paint from chipping off. You can buy small bottles in the artist paint section. Thanks for your comment!
