UP - October 29, 2009. Under the umbrella of "BlueMotion Technologies" Volkswagen demonstrates how to determine the way into the e-car-ages. But this road will not just be troublesome but also quite a long one. Decreasing oil ressources, economical flourishing threshold countries and higher ecological demands will be big challenges for the car-industry. VW offers for its model-ranges a big variety of petrol-, diesel- and natural gas-engines which become more and more efficient and cleaner by specifical downsizing. Three new VW BlueMotion models demonstrate how efficient today's serial production car already is. The Polo (3.3l/100km), the Golf (3.8l/100km) and the Passat (4.4l/100km)are among their competitors prime examples of high efficiency. "We search and develope all relevant technologies, but only utilize them when it makes sense," so said Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, member of the VW board for development. Volkswagen has extremly efficient petrol-, diesel- and gas-engines "with which cars like the new Polo, Golf, Passat BlueMotion or Paasat TSI EcoFuel are pretty well ahead of matchable hybrid-cars".
Well VW may be right but I am afraid there will be no cars or even humans on this planet in 20 years if we do not get a grip on our ways of life...........
