Last week at Sundance, I was able to sit down with Patton Oswalt, Kevin Corrigan and writer-director Robert Siegel about their latest film Big Fan, which was selected for the US Dramatic Competition at the festival. Patton Oswalt plays a football-obsessed loner, Paul, who worships the New York Giants and spends his time listening to and calling a sports radio station. Corrigan plays Pauls lone friend Sal, who accompanies him to the fateful nightclub where they have a less than positive first encounter with Pauls idol, the star quarterback for the Giants. This is Siegels first film since The Wrestler, which he wrote, a film that recently picked up two Golden Globes and a couple of Oscar nominations. Sorry about the terrible sound quality; the indoor hotel courtyard where the interviews were shot has terrible acoustics. At the beginning of the video, I included a clip in which Kevin talks about UC Berkeley and the famous activist Mario Savio - I couldn't resist.
