On days when sugar falls
Like rain from high above
I get over me

It's useless when I talk
Nothing comes to light
Give me a change

On the way I cease
Thinking like the leaves...
I'm nowhere else, I'm nowhere else

It's useless when I pine
No movement hits my mind
Give me a name

Inspiration... During a late summer road trip to Mount Rainier, my Father regaled me with colorful Burmese folktales from his boyhood. One story was about a poltergeist named Contagion, a powerful female spirit who created illusions of grandeur and irresistible romance around the minds of her unlucky male victims who she'd ultimately lure to their deaths. Although my lyrics are completely unrelated to this ghostly folktale, I chose to dedicate the title to my Father as my sign of daughterly love and appreciation.

Conception & Completion... While I often use classical guitar and voice to convey my musical visions with utmost sincerity, I also use Ableton Live to reveal sensationally different ideas. I actively try to create a new Ableton session every possible day and I never limit myself to a single style. Sometimes I feel quirky and electronic, sometimes I feel the desolate composer, so on and so forth. On the morning of Sept. 7th I was feeling orchestral and arranged a warm-up chorale for an odd mix of band instruments including viola, french horn, trumpet and tuba. Half an hour passed and I was growing bored, thinking something like, "damn, another classically themed idea that probably leads to nowhere". In order to stoke the fires of creativity I added a cinema-friendly bass-line and continued automating parameters. I wholeheartedly desired to remain focused. Suddenly my lips parted and I gently began mouthing syllables, vowels and consonants which naturally merged with my moodiest thoughts. I felt my fingers typing with great gusto in an attempt to capture any inspired lyrics springing forth. Within a quarter of an hour I capped off the old emotional oil rig and began my pursuit after a worthy vocal recording. In good time, all passions I felt boiling within me were set into stone. I genuinely felt I had wrestled out one truthful vocal performance otherwise held captive by an apathetic mindset. Next, I concentrated on divulging an unrestrained guitar solo expressing triumph and the forgotten. I'll add the P-90 pickups on the Tele Custom II encouraged me to play my finest. Once creation and recording of new sounds was accomplished I mixed until I died, of happiness ;-) and I knew my first new work as a 22 year old had been completed.
