A documentary on Valery Harlamov, the best Soviet ice hockey winger, who tragically died at the age of 33 in a car crash . Friends and colleagues speak on his life, recorded are interviews of Vyacheslav Fetisov, Anatoly Firsov, USSR team coach Anatoly Tarasov, coach Boris Kulagin.

In 1968 Harlamov became the champion of the USSR, in 1969 the world champion. In 1976 Valery Harlamov was seriously injured in a car crash, but soon began training (video of this period) and continued playing hockey. Family photos, scenes from Harlamovs training, including training in Kudepsta in 1967, scenes from the USSR-Canada matches with Harlamov, Mikhailov and Petrov are available on video.

  • The injuries he suffered @ the hands of N/A "THUGS", were much worse than he suffered in the fatal car crash. Difference is, he suffered the hockey 1's, over a # of years. He was attacked dozens of times by brutal N/A "Goons", who should have been breaking rock in a prison. I do remember Clarke, Robinson, Van Imp, Barber, & many others, who would not have 30% of his talent, trying so hard to put him out of the game, or better still, kill him. Killing a Commie then, OK (Espo).

    Ain't changed much.

  • i believe its not harlamov its with a K but yes thats how its pronounced. Another name like that is Khabibulin but again its a silent K i do believe because its pronounced habybulin
