  • I miss Sega! Damn a new Sonic would be cool!

  • @DisasterPiece0302 Sega were on top of their game back when the dreamcast was around and they had allot higher standards ... now ... they are a crappy 3rd party Developer, When they were 1st party they were 1st class.

  • the only problem with a new sega system is this: Sega was badass back in the day, but every game they have a hand in making now days is complete and utter ass. So its only safe to assume that a new system would also be complete and utter ass. I would love to see a new sonic, but it just doesnt seem practical

  • @TurboFuss1 NO ONE wants blue ray, it's not a bad format but most people know that dvd ===> HD straming is the way to go.

  • @TurboFuss1

Yeah i guess killed off never was the right word, i do think that with the PS2 comming out and the bonus it played DVDs did sway a lot of people to go for the PS2.

I think your right software support was key and a lot of developers started to prefer to produce for the PS2 console.

Sad really as the Dream Cast was a good system, and most games never 100% pushed the system, in some ways it could do better than the PS2 due to larger video ram.

  • @BanjoKiD2K I don't think the lack of DVD killed dreamcast. The XBOX360 doesn't have blu-ray and is an inferior system to PS3 yet sells well because of a large and good library of games.

  • A major turning point was the PS2 had DVD play back.

Pretty Much same as how the PS3 having Blu-Ray helped to get Blu-ray into the mainstream and killed of HD-DVD.

Pitty as the Dreamcast was a good console, it had great 2D and Texture capabilities compared to the PS2's

Had the DC had more shelf life then i am sure a Sega NAOMI 2 bassed follow on would have came, one was planned but scraped with the anouncement of the Game Cube they just turned to Software, even using GC hardware in arcades.

  • I'll give you something, That controller looks EPIC! The six buttons on the right put vertically by the Analogue stick, pure genious

  • SEGA has knocked out too much crap over the last 10 years or so, they'll never go back to making consoles. There's not enough SEGA fans out there, which is why most of their games flop. The money they've spent knocking out all the shit, they should of given fans Shenmue 3, a new Daytona and a remake of Virtua Racing (all with online play).

  • Sega would never release such an ugly console which on the other hand curiously resembles to the original PS2. Which was a freakin ugly piece on its own.

With great ideas and effort Sega very well could be a strong competitor in the market since though many like to call the current situation as a war of 3 big companies, i'd call it a war of 2 and a half at best since the X360 and the PS3 are so god damn similar. We need variation and many styles, not all companies crapping out the same!

  • Am I the only person who doesn't give a flying fuck about HD consoles? Seriously, as long as the game doesn't make your eyes bleed what does it matter?

  • sega and orther companies should've update their titles to new consoles keeping the older style 2D or 2.5D, Not making other consoles!!! Or do a remake "super remake" for those successful games starring new tech!!
