Basically, it goes like this.
Master: I have control of the Earth and am about to take over the universe, and in 3 minutes I will kill you.
Martha: *cracks up laughing*
Master: What?
Martha: Yeah, no. Not going to happen. I'm way too awesome.
This is why this is my favourite RTD finale, despite sparkly!magic!Doctor and sobbing over the Master. Martha Jones is amazingly awesome.

Sums up an RTD ending perfectly. Ha doctor, I defeated your plan No you didn't, I have a new plan which has never been mentioned *de ages* Ha, I'll shoot you! No you won't, I have a forcefield. Okay, I'll shoot them. No you won't, I have telekenises Okay I'll run away No you won't, I can fly! One Deus Ex Machina after another... it's like two children playing cowboys and one has armor, then the other has a rocket launcher, but the other has a forcefield... ludicrous.

@JimmyColls the reason he became the small creature is because the master aged him past regenerating so he couldnt regenerate

@JimmyColls I think the Master forced the Doctor to age/degenerate beyond his regeneration capability. (Plus, the Doctor obviously planned ahead; and the fans LOVED David Tennant.)

Didn't the First Doctor regenerate because he felt his body was getting too old? Surely the Master's plan is bullshit if Ten can just regenerate out of what's been done to him.
