Creole Wild West Mardi Gras Indians, Uptown Super Sunday, New Orleans, Mar. 22, 2009

The Creole Wild West Mardi Gras Indians chanting, singing, dancing on LaSalle Street New Orleans, during the Mardi Gras Indian Council's annual Super Sunday celebration - this is the Other America - poor, working-class, black, but so much more joyous and creative ( & productive) than mainstream America. No other American city does this - everyone coming out to sing and dance together like this on such a regular basis - New Orleans is more creative, more social and more democratic - other American cities could learn a lot from us and the Halls of Government & Business here in NOLA could learn a lot too if they could ever bring themselves to get out and about...... out of their pompous exclusive cliques....

Deecy been sewing since she was seven years old and Walter did help her that's why he got the feathers for his big queen and that's why she wasn't falling apart because she did her own sewing. Deecy been masking since she was about 5.
