Saving a snake stuck in boiling tar - How watching TV can be helpful

While filming for a football freestyle video, my friend Kapil found a snake stuck in tar. After hearing its hissing and seeing life in it, we decided to free the snake. I thought it was a Cobra, but hoped it was a Rat snake because those aren't venomous.
We took precautions and used my camera's monopod to yank out the snake tail first. The only reason I attempted this, was because I've been watching loads of Discovery since I was introduced to the TV.
