If you love this song, you've got to see this video! It's the closest thing to The Looking Glass's recorded version that you are likely to hear played live.

The Johnsons, Soul of the 70s, live at Schoonerville, Sunland, CA. This was the band's final "official" show before Rob moved to Virginia. Recorded on July 11, 1998 by Frances Mena, videographer.

The Johnsons are: Janel Romero Boose (vox, keyboard), Rob Schilling (vox, guitar), Victor Mena (bass, vox), Jeff Beckman (drums), and Butch Magnum (percussion).

  • Great jobs guys. I agree on the drums being over powering but that is hard to stop in a small hall. Vocals could come a little though. Although as I listen here it seems that they did come up some throughout the song. Is there an engineer there?

  • Thanks! Yes, an engineer was in the house, but it was a typical club engineer. Set the mics at soundcheck and be done with it. More songs from this show to be posted shortly.

  • Think about some staging. You might benefit by putting the lead in the middle and then interacting more that way.

  • @LUGTrekGM There is a much better version of this song by Zach Taylor. Check it out.

  • FAN - FUCKING - TASTIC version of this song!!! You guys rule!

  • good job, in the right venue, as a proper hall, this would be the bomb. Best of luck.

  • yay!!!

  • pretty good but the drums are a little too overpowering in the verses. the vocals are spot on though!

  • Good man. real good. but i agree a little more movement. its ok its a small bar stage though. I'm still diggin it

  • One thing though, the band could have a little more stage presence...just a thought...
