How to play Call of Duty 4 online for FREE!

This video will show you how to get Call of Duty 4 online without having to buy the game.

Originally this video was longer but I cut it into two parts, unfortunately the first part was removed by YouTube so you will have to find another video that shows you how to download it before you can do this.

1)How do I back-up my profile?
Vista-Go to C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players, make a copy of the "profiles" folder and paste it somewhere else.
If you don't see the folder go to C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData(To see this folder go to click Tools/Folder Options/View/Show hidden files and folders)\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\ . . .

2)When I try to play multiplayer I get a message saying "iw3mp.exe has stopped working". What do I do?
**Thanks to "eneakume" for leaving these instruction. Go to Start/Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Sound/Recording. Right Click inside window and choose "Show Disabled Devices". When "Stereo MIX" appears, Right Click and choose enable.

3)Do I have to play in cracked servers?
**Yes, if you try to join a server that is not cracked you will get a message saying that the key code is in use.

4)When I try to join a server I get a message saying "Key code in use". What do I do?
**First make sure you are trying to join a cracked server. If it is a cracked server try reinstalling the private server patch. If you still get the message reinstall all the patches (make sure you install them in the correct order). If for some reason you still get the message reinstall all the patches again.

5)When I try to join a server I get an error message saying that the "code_post_gfx_mp.ff is different from the server". What does this mean?
**Thanks to "naruto2334" for finding this out. This is caused by installing a patch without installing the previous patch first. For example, if you install the 1.7 patch without installing the 1.6 patch.

6)When I try to join a server it says that the server is in another version. What do i do?
**If you want to play on that server you will have to update the game to the version mentioned. For example, if the message says that the server is in version 1.7 you will have to update the game to version 1.7

7)How do i update the game to a newer version?
**If you did everything in my videos you should have version 1.5. If you want to update to version 1.7 you will have to download and install the 1.6 and 1.7 patches followed by the 1.7 private server patch.

8)I keep getting kicked/banned by PunkBuster.What do I do?
**Update PunkBuster manually by following the instructions here: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

9)How do I install the private server patch?
**Copy the iw3mp from the private server patch folder and paste it into the directory (Local Disk/Program Files/Activision/Call of Duty 4-Modern Warfare) replacing the iw3mp in that folder. (Watch video from 4:21
to 5:21)

10)When I try to join a server I get a message "error server connection timed out". What do I do?
**Open the console and type in "connectionattempts 30" and press enter. Then try to join a server. You will have to do this each time you open the game.

11)The game lags a lot. How can I fix this?
**Open the game and go to options/graphics. Set everything to "low" or "no" and set the "video mode" to a lower resolution. It will lower the quality of the graphics but it should make it run faster. You can play around with the settings to get the best balance of quality and performance for your computer. For more suggestions go to #44 in the last link.

12)My ping is too high. What can I do to lower it?
**Make sure you don't have anything running in the background like the Internet, Windows Media Player, Bittorrent, ect. Also, if you have a slow internet connection this could be causing the high ping. And finally, try to connect to servers based in the U.S.(or whatever country you may be from).

I just read that the 1.6 patch includes all the changes up to patch 1.5 so you probably don't need the 1.4 and 1.5.

Lmfao i waited like 4 full days to get everything set up and ready... i played it for a week then i got the iw3mp.exe problem and didnt realzie you had a way to fix it so i just uninstalled... now i come here and see that there is a way to fix it lmfao i fail.
