G kraft is the best host in racing.

I have to tell you that G. Kraft is the best host you can even imagine. I had a chance to go on the Dreams yacht and watch the Sarasota Races. We had a blast with all the gals on the front of the Yacht.

My initial statement was complete sarcasm...

Actually Mr. Offshore, some of these guys DO have money.
Take for instance Bill McComb, former national/world champion SuperVEE. Driver of the Pier 57 Fountain.
Before landing sponsorship with Joe Boxer and Patron he financed his entire team out of his own pocket. I know this because I am good friends with his son and also him.
What you say is mostly true... He is pretty crazy and spent over 3 million a year keeping that boat competitive.
The 1999 APBA Offshore Worlds in St. Pete had about 120 Offshore Race Teams.
YES there were Rich Guys, but most were just like YOU, with their entire family helping with everything. And the risk of being killed is very high. So don't be critical, be proud of these Warriors... because they race for EGO gratification, and the awesome experience involved.
No one has gotten rich racing boats, the Winnings are less than the costs...
SBI/APBA Offshore Powerboat racing is AWESOME, and scary...

Chris in Hidden Agenda landed on its bottom after striking the side of Tommy Bahama and ripping a long area on her rear side area above the water line. Chris and his Driver were fine... a little fiberglass patchup and both boats continued in future races. hey Chris, howsit? these guys are tough.
