Kenya is experiencing one of the worst droughts ever recorded, triggering the wildebeest to be on the move which is an event welcomed by the Marsh pride of lions. There's a rare encounter with a crocodile, and a small six-week-old cub is the latest additions to the Ridge pride.

Simon King tracks down the female cheetah Amber, and discovers a python swallowing a gazelle. There is sad news regarding Half-Tail, but Jonathan finds her daughter Shadow - with her own cub.

  • @syderwarp Well I'm glad they left it; snakes are awesome and it's amazing that such a giant caught something as quick as a Tommy. It's rare to see such huge snakes in action in the wild. They deserve as much respect as any lion.

  • i remember my friend and I would watch big cat diary all day every day! we had a cub in series 2 with a mole beside his eye :P i seen good ol bazz in this episode :D

  • So is it true that lions/leopards/cheetahs recognize their offspring even after many years? What about the leopard and cheetah fathers? Do they recognize their old mates and cubs?
