  • @sportsman214... Maybe been would have been better then you know if he did. Also its not about your plane its about the head being in the same place for similar swings.

  • @JPBill2 Yes, Bobby Jones hickory shafts were spine aligned.

Hickory shafts are installed with the tight grain facing the target. This is the strong direction of any wooden cylinder. This is similar to a baseball bat having the label printed on the weak side, the side you are never supposed to hit a ball with. The toe of the club would be equivalent to the label. It should be up when you hit the ball or the stick will break.

"Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do."

  • If I had a nickle for every pixel, I'd have about 5 cents.

  • Bobby Jones had every one of his hickory shafts spine aligned before winning the Grand Slam of Golf. There's an old saying from Bobby's day. "A fool and his money are soon parted."

  • @sportsman214 - Actually I do recall reading the Hogan DID in fact spine align his clubs. He was very particular about the assembly of his tools.

  • we don't swing on the same plane to where that would make any sense. Doubt Ben Hogan spined his clubs
