Season 2, Episode 16: Bored, She Hung Herself
Original Air Date—7 January 1970
The "lost" episode of Five-O, it has never been made available in syndication nor on the newly released DVDs. A woman is found hanged to death. The suspect is a young man who uses a yoga technique where someone hangs themselves (but survives). All is not what it appears.

  • why not post the whole episode? or at least let us know where we can view the entire episode?????

  • It is impossible to post whole episode on YouTube... They are limiting the file size both in size (how large it is) and length (whole long the clipping is). This episode is not available on the DVD and is not being re-broadcast on TV as it is not part of synchronisation since the original run in the late 1960s. Only a few copies remain from people who have taped it back then when it originally aired.

  • @jacklord1920 Uh, who had a home video recorder in 1970? This copy is obviously from a 16mm print.

  • @eyeh8nbc Hi there. Of course its from 16mm - who claimed something else? I hope you enjoy the version.

  • @McGarrett1968 Thanks so much for sharing the whole episode!! I am a huge fan of the show and until a few days ago I thought I had every episode of the show--now I do! Thanks again!

  • These were the days when we had great sitcoms, nighttime dramas, variety shows and there were only 10 minutes of commercials and promos per hour...by law! If YOU are tired of infomercials disguised as entertainment, sleazy reality shows worth $1.98 in today's money, then "I want you to get up! I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now, and go to the window, open it, and stick your head out and yell, 'I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this any more!' "

  • Let's just say if Me-TV airs one of those lost episodes of Five-O it can give Me-TV horrible times because of the hanging and the one when he said the boy killed my daughter and he is going to be punished. Hawaii Five-O will air the lost episode again on Me-TV and it will not include...

    1. The girl hanging herself dead

    2. The one when Kano said "Don Miles, you're under arrest."

    3. The one when he said boy killed his daughter and Don is going to be punished.

  • I just completed watching the full epi referenced above. Even my 11-year-old was with me for a bit, and I explained the controversy to her.

Thank you, jacklord1920, for giving us the 1st glimpse, and also thanks to *beraquesso* for airing it in full!

    Aloha, friends!

  • @gent11763 I think that is banned becuase of the Hari Krishna and the hanging on the noose around her neck which was shown and lawsuit. CBS stopped airing in the early 1970s because it is unaired in United Kingdom.

  • @traceymallard Mr. Lord lived for many years in retirement in Honolulu at his apartment in Kahala with his wife. He made ocassional appearances as host of the Aloha Week Parade segment of CBS All-American Thanksgiving Day Parade. However, he developed Alzheimer's Disease and died some years years ago. There is a bust of him at Kahala Mall (outside Macy's) that was dedicated in his memory.

  • This episode aired once on Jan 7, 1970. Due to it's portrayal of the Hari Krishna, a lawsuit was threatened. To settle any possible legal problems, CBS agreed to never air the episode again. This episode never aired in re-runs or in syndication and was not included in the Season 2 DVD release of the series. The oft found story that it was because of fears of copycat hanging deaths is a myth. The Internet copy is taken from a film print. It is also available on BOOTLEG DVDs from Australia.

  • @ajp9226 That is correct. However, I saw in another post that the episode is available on the DVD set issued in Australia. How is that possible if it comes from the same source/company?

  • This episode is available on the Australian verion of "The Second Season." They can usally be found on the Aus. Ebay site. Despie the set being region 4, it will play on many pcs and some US dvd players.

  • does anyone know whatever happened to actor Jack lord?

  • @jacklord1920 I have found whole episodes uploaded as multiple 10 minute segments, and as a single video upload. If I remember the Youtube account rules, most accounts are limited to the 10 minute rule, but if you have a "directors" ( I think that's what they call it), the limit is either higher or nonexistent.

  • This is very nice. Now us completists only need the Gary Busey revival of the cast in '97.
