Yeah, people who say that blue ice, for example, is stronger
than steel, don't mention that's only in COMPRESSION, not
impact and shock. The colder the ice, the more fragile it is to
shock, as the ice crystal "planes" don't have the energy to
connect plane to plane anymore. It cleaves faster. Hold
something hot against supercold ice, and it will explode,
like throwing DRY ICE in a pool. (on youtube)

By the way, the original idea for ICE bullets in a gun, was an episode
of the Scooby Doo Mysteries in 1988. That's NOT a joke. Really.

The Air Propelled Guns and Spring coil "Guns" would be just as
stupid. Ice Bullets shatter from the SHOCK, not the heat of a
gun. (Although Shock does impart heat). ICE, Blue Ice, or super
cooled ice has the same problem, it's a Frissible crystal.
Shock it in any way, and it shatters. Going from zero speed
to any speed capable of penetrating skin, is more than enough.
