iPhone 4 VS Galaxy S II: MKV Playback

Just so you know, the battery lasts about 2 hours when decoding MKV. Raw power, the SGS2 wins, but the iPhone 4 is still the smartphone of choice that I will recommend to 99% of the population.

1º- S II has a dual core processor, 4 has a single core

2º - VLC media player is one of the worst player for iOS try ALPlayer, with that one you can play 1920x1080 without any lag

Samsung galaxy s2 with Dice player (hardware accelerated), playing 720p mkvs, can easy get 7-8 hrs playback, and with 2000mah battery about 9-10hrs.

Nice, now trying playing a DivX over a network share like SMB on your Galaxy S II, you can't. On the iPhone you can.

To Aru Kagaku no Railgu and Star driver this  anime is very good

Something is wrong if you get only 2 hours of battery life playing 720p MKV's. Samsung devices use hardware decoding for H.263/H.264 MKV's, and even my Infuse (which gets worse battery life than an SGS2 in most scenarios) can play back 5 hours of 720p MKV's (ie. gg's Mawaru Penguindrum releases) before giving out. I could understand 2 hours on the iPhone 4, since it software decodes unsupported formats, which runs the CPU and kills battery.
