  • I love the way they've spent money refurbishing this one but still kept the brown floor! I did the Olhdam loop yesterday but had the (dis) pleasure of 142049, one of the ex-Merseyrail ones! Did it on the 20 tour later in the day though, that was quite good!

  • Argh no way! I was there too! Saw 049 a couple of times! Filmed it at Oldham Mumps and Shaw (name sounds familiar to you lol?). Should have seen you, also saw a few 607 batch B10B's in Rochdale including 60789 and one going to Halifax. More videos of the loop to come up. shame to have missed you! Was a last minute decision.

  • Haha yeh we did the 1724 Man Vic-Rochdale via Oldham on 142049! Did you do any lines other than Oldham? We managed to end up in Chorley at one point even though the GMPTE rover we got isn't valid to there!

  • I went earlier and kept stopping off on route to film the locations and workings, will be putting up videos of locations, then bussed it back into Manchester as I had a £5.30 train and bus ticket. Would have done more trains but the Saturday timetable is reduced compared to a week day.

  • By the way I got a load more Hellfire Pacer Action in Devon again last week after visiting there 2 weeks ago too. Will upload them all and give you some links, I can make a good Pacer video of all my recent stuff in the South West.

  • 067 was with FGW for a while :) ! Love Pacers!!

  • The Pacer isn't a bad train and they've lasted long than their Leyland National road counterparts, like yeah they bounce on bad tracks but they don't shake and rattle like mad as the Leyland National used to on a bad road with potholes...

  • @60791 The brown floor is from all the spilled coffee...

  • 0:10 - it's gonna hit that fence!

  • It is better on some pacers where they have been refurbished with train seats

  • nothing, they are hellfire

  • here here... spot on

  • What the hell is it with people keeping on slagging off Pacers. These trains do stirling work day-in day-out and are the lifeline of many a line...

Its easy to criticise them saying they bounce all over the place, but yeah, that cos they work mostly on routes that are heavily under invested in and mostly have poor track quality.

You put one on the ECML for example and it wont bounce much more than a HST at full speed...

Put any train on crap track and it will bounce....

  • ah yeah, good point!

  • Nope, it depends on the track quality, was on the WCML on a 142 at easily over 70 and not a single bounce at all! Smooth as silk.
