The Space Shuttle launched from Cape Canaveral yesterday. We get a good view from our front yard 45 miles West.

  • What a wonderful view!

My late Dad worked on the Gemini, Mercury and Apollo programs. I have wonderful memories of seeing the launches up close and personal, meeting the astronauts -- and mostly, I miss my Dad.

I view EVERY shuttle launch with the fascination of my childhood -- and pray they all come home safely.

Thank you for this wonderful reminder.

  • what's about the cat? Alpha cat?

  • I so miss night launches! Used to watch them from PAFB beach or Jetty Park...

  • wow, that looks awesome, did you hear it? (probably you did xD still, awesome)

  • coolie =^-^=

  • Yea, we live just south of the Cape, and we can see it every time it launches from our back yard (well except for the trees in other people's yards that get in the way occasionally). It's truely amazing. Now that I'm away at school, I don't see them anymore, and I miss it. It's an incredible thing.

  • I swear beafore i die, I'll go to America and see a launch or a landing.

  • now that..was cool..
