ARMA 2 Helicopter Night drop - ultimate HD version

I play in 1900 by 1200, but this video was shot in 1680 by 1050 as you can see to maximize youtubage...Hate Windows movie maker options when publishing though, since you can't upload native FRAPs....boo...sidebars...need new converter

It's about the details, and graphical awesomeness - not the action for this video. Just look at the forest and surrounding village in the distance when you land.

Anyways, 5000 visibility - you can see - highest settings possible (minus post, pain in the ass process), Phenom 940 BE @ 3.6 watercooled in Vista x64. 4 GB 1066 and 1 GB ATI 4870 running at 815/975 for this video footage (overclocks).

10000 visibility is playable without FRAPs running with my setup, but a Crossfire setup would be preferred. 5000 is a walk in the park though with everything juiced.

FRAPS does well when set affinity to core 3 high priority (haven't tried realtime yet). Capture is good as you can see. When fraps isn't running, my video card is plenty with my CPU for this game juiced at 1900 by 1200 once you learn the tweaks. For the visibility - the 1 GB video RAM eats it up, swear to god it seems to work better the more you throw at it.

But at the same time it makes me want to Crossfire! ARMA 2 is nuts.

i have amd phenom x4 940 ( 3.4ghz), 2 gig ram, 512MB 8800GT OC, winXP, and i cant get anything over 27fps???? in cities i get like 20-25 fps...am i missing something??? pls any suggestions would be appreciated- i know it shud run way better.

thanks dude, I'll try - would post comparisons with Operation Flashpoint - but ARMA smokes it graphically!!! I have even higher rez daytime vids I'm attempting to convert to youtube, but I'm having trouble. I'll try my best to get one up soon!

@lilo689 ur right, that pc sucks for arma2...had to upgrade to finally run it steadily @ 45fps on max- and still FPS drops down to 30 in big battles.

@unkowndrunkenfrankli No man, your pc sucks for that game... My GTS 250 1gb and 4gb ram ddr3 + intel q9400 and i get something like 38 in high settings (not maximum)... the resolution i use is a poor 1024*768

You can definitely hear that he's reading a script, especially from 0:35 on except for that Robo guy. :P But the dialogue is way better than in Dragon Rising. That's what you'd hear in a real marine chopper.
