@GnarlyBolt No, it means that evil exists. If good exists, then evil must also exist by necessity. To say that God is all good and evil at the same time is logically impossible. Something might be partly good and partly evil, but if it is all good, then there is no room for evil. Evil would have to exists somewhere outside of it.

@edadan I can see what you mean, but remember for many many years, RC has devoted his life to scripture and theology. This is a man who is wiser then you or I. I am not saying he can't be wrong, but surly it's not as simple as you have put it.........just my two sense.

I'm shocked that RC said he doesn't know where evil came from!

And yes, I did a word study and the original word in Hebrew ("ra") means evil, distress, misery, injury, calamity.

I would've responded differently. For 1: God is the author of evil. This is in no conflict with His character since it does not imply that He is responsible. 2: atheists have to assume there is such a thing as good and evil, but with their own system they can assume no such thing. 3: if God is good, then there must logically be a "not good". Good cannot even be conceived if there is no negation of it. If Q exists, then there must be not Q, otherwise everything would be Q, thus Q is meaningless.

Now chew on that exegetically through the LXX and orginal languages, and Vulgate, A true teacher needs to be properly equiped for this great job in the ministry.

How can you not know where Evil came from?!?!? You're a preacher!!

Evil is the absence of God. Where light is present darkness cannot...CANNOT exist. In otherwords, where God isn't darkness consumes the void.
