Bye Bye Blackbird - Benny Green and George Nagata

Benny Green, a great jazz pianist formerly of Ray Brown Trio and many other groups, was the star of a live trio concert by "KBS Trio" at Tokyo Club. As fatigued as he was arriving just a day earlier from California, he was kind enough to join me for a duo of Bye Bye Blackbird after the show. With marvelous basslines, sharp comping and of course brilliant adlib, he had enlightened me and other musicians in the house.
