Dina Formentini tells the St. Pete city council that they should encourage diversity at their downtown shopping mall instead of trying to stop protesters and youth from being on the sidewalk in front of the complex. " Protesters, african americans, youth, homeless are not the problem.... those who are against ideas or people who do not further their ideas or agendas, they are the problem." "you said you would uphold the constitution and that means upholding my constitutional rights and everybody's rights that are in here, and that's not just the rights that are comfortable for people to handle when they go to baywalk." This was the best three minutes of the day because it captures the REAL issue of the BayWalk sidewalk: some people are uncomfortable with ANY form of confrontation, no matter how peaceful, and they have convinced the city council that peaceful expression is a problem. They want to live in their comfortable cocoons and extend their cocoons to the public sidewalks.
