One of the best diving spots I've been to, and it's just off the coast of San Diego. This 2.5 min video captures the 3 dives that we did during the December 2008 trip. We got into the underwater kelp forest and great topography at San Clemente Island - an uninhabited (except fort the US Navy) island 70 miles off shore - diving in both sunny and cloudy conditions (definitely a different "feel"). I dove here numerous times 30 years ago and took Scuba Instructors Course here. Much less picked-over than Catalina Island (Farnsworth Bank IS recommended) with clear visibility. Lots of seals...I missed the effin sharks...maybe a little Blue shark, big deal, whoopy.
I also used to Sail between San Clemente and Catalina...could be a wild stretch of water for a 24 foot sloop and a dumb-ass kid like me.
Those were the days...keep the videos coming.
