  • Of course. Using our wits instead of just following the instructions on how to fight sin is contradictory. Believers are specifically instructed NOT to use what we think or feel.

The Bible is the only thing to convict sinners of what they are doing. Not our dissertations or sly speeches.

The world must be shown the light, or they continue in darkness.

Reaching to the world's level to reach the world is like playing rock music with Christian lyrics. It doesn't fly, and it doesn't last.

  • As far as Christian Rock goes, I dunno abou that. I still listen to some 20+ yr old Christian Rock that I listened to as a teen.

It's the "christian rock bands" on Christian labels that seem to lack the Christian Lyrics that I question.

The band Disciple is 10+ yrs old now and are doing better than ever with new albums. But they keep the lrics Christian.

  • Sir, when has God ever needed the things of the world, that the unsaved love, to reach the lost?

Sacred means set apart for Him, holy, the opposite of what the world accepts. Look at what is called holy in Scripture and the world's standards are nowhere to be found. There is nothing set apart about Christian rock.

Try telling a music maker that music is neutral. Why not play horror music to the Lone Ranger chase? It doesn't match, and neither does fruit of God with fruit of the world.

  • Nah. Turn the amp gain down on some metal music and it's similar to classical music.

All music has to follow the same laws of chord structures, etc but everything can't all be Amy Grant.

  • Oh I see. Every famous rock musician tells us that rock is about sex, sass and rebellion. They know more about its origins, meanings and effects on the body than anyone on youtube. And they're not even believers. I will trust them, who know the world and its tools.

Repeat, God has never needed Satan's tools to win the lost.

You're trying to convince the wrong guy. I produced music videos including one for Don Henley in '85, before I was saved. I know the rock scene, and it is not of God.

  • Uh, I wouldn't say every rock musician. But as anyone in the secular music industry knows there is temptation and a life style.

Brittany Spears is probably a bigger pervert than most "rock stars".

    Just for example.

    Elton John! LOL!

Oh, DOn Henley. Was that when he did "Building the perfect Beast"?

I wouldn't be surprised if he was into the occult a little.

But not every musician goes in thinking he's going to be rude crude and worship the devil. Influence can be bad though.

  • There are some Christian Rock bands that have an awesome message and live their life the right way.

Unplug their distortion peddles and it's the same as classical and other music.

  • Between those of us in this discussion, I am the expert on rock n roll. Sorry, turkey. That's how it is. I was making videos before MTV was on the air. I know rock. However, to shoot your tires out, I never met Henley and he wasn't the guy who paid me.

If you're trying to say that music is neutral, you have already lost the argument. There is nothing a "little" wrong. It's either right or wrong. Ask God.

On this topic, you are not informed. You're done. Ignored.

  • I did not produce these videos.

And I agree that the Biblke is our basis.

I also like how the Bible agrees with nature rather than opposes it.

  • I mirrored this for someone. But I'm not sure what you meant about not using the Bible?

Are you refering to his case he built to counter gay marriage without using the Bible?

I believe it was examples of how to debunk gay marriage without the Bible to debate those who don't care what our Bible says.

The things he goes over are the typical excuses gays use to justify it for them. He counters it on their level I suppose.
