Conway Scenic Railroad - Railfans` Weekend 2011 (HD)

On Saturday, September 17, 2011. Stokley Rail Productions made a trip north to the Conway Scenic Railroad for their annual Railfans Weekend. This special event is held every year on the third weekend of September, this year being the 17th & 18th. We will see all sorts of activity with 7470, 4266, & 216 handling the Valley Train between Conway and Bartlett. A special freight extra also ran on this weekend. This is one scenic railroad that no railfanner should overlook. So sit back and enjoy the action!

@Strasburg1991 Another steam engine in operation at Conway Scenic? I don`t know off hand, but there were plans at one time to get ex-MEC 2-8-0 #501 back into operation. I don`t know what the plan for that engine is currently but I think it will remain static display for a long time. Currently 7470 is the only operating steam locomotive at Conway Scenic Railroad.

DUDE! Nice Job! Btw, how the heck did u get a 46 minute video on YouTube? Do u have permission from them to post vids longer than 15 minutes (aka their normal length allowance) anyways! Awesome!!! I'm going up on columbus day to take in some foliage, and, of course, 7470!

@OdaConnProductions Thanks for the compliments AJ! And no there is no permission form, my account was recently set to have videos longer than 15 minutes. If you go to the upload video section, there should be a blue box that says "Congrats, your account is now activated for videos longer than 15 minutes." Cant wait to see your video of North Country Steam! I may be going back up to Conway Scenic soon to, dont know when though, hopefully soon.

hey at rogers crossing, I had 7470 run over my camera during North Country Steam! I cant wait for u guys to see it! I would've had it up by now but some troubles arose with my camera, but now that its fixed, I'll have it up soon!

@GP9railfan Thanks. I know, some people can be inconsiderate about getting in other peoples shots. Yes, Conway Scenic is normally loaded with railfanners on this weekend but due to Hurricane Irene, it seemed like there were more people there last year than this year. From what Courtney told us is that their tracks were completely washed out. Once they had replaced roadbed etc. they had literally re-opened the line from Conway through Crawfords that day of Railfans Weekend.

Great job Sam. Conway is loaded with railfans. I'd be mad if those people got in the way of my turntable shot like that. Kinda inconsiderate IMHO. Railfan edequate dosen't apply there I guess...
