Brian Haw has won Channel 4's award for Most Inspiring Political Figure of 2007 beating Blair and Cameron by a factor of seven.

Mr Haw has protested against the UK's Iraq policy since 2001. The Government has tried to silence him on numerous occasions but failed.

Well done Brian. Democracy lives on.

Brian's award was presented by the comedian Mark Thomas.

  • Respect to Brain Haw R.I.P

  • @210482fmj It is your compliance and inacticivty and tax pounds that did those things to those children - THAT should be giving you nightmares. You cannot be considered ignorant - we have all been well informed as to the disgusting injustices that have been talking place - you are just confused. Bless you x

  • sorry but i think this guy was way over the top putting those images on his protest site of injured and sick kids. some of those images were really graphic. He had no right to put images like that in public. supposing some kid with his mummy and daddy was to of seen them and starts having knightmares. we understand the war was wrong but that doesnt make it right to go puttign up images of injuired children from untracable websites in public. he went way over the top

  • Went to visit Brian and heard news that he is suffering cancer and is in Germany for treatment. Get well soon Mr Haw because we miss you xxx

That was an amazing speech too :D

  • poor brian looks very ill in the photos on his site. he looks terribly thin. i think protesting and the stress of living on a cold floor has made him ill not to mention all the exhaust fumes in london. Living on the streets has damaged his health.

  • @JuanMacready but "joining forces with Hitler" would not have saved us from Hitlers ambition and would have made us willing accessories to mass genocide.

Most war crime trials are pointless because they only apply to the enemy. Leaders of Israel and the US have never been charged with war crimes despite both countries having committed them. The Khymer Rouge were allowed to get away with their crimes. Britain was allowed to kick an entire population out of their homes to create a US airbase.

  • @neoconhitman Stalin overran all of Eastern Europe and he invaded Poland at the same time as Hitler. It was ludicrous having the Nuremberg trials when so many Soviet commanders were guilty of war crimes.

  • @JuanMacready - was he? So why didn't he invade Europe if he was sooooo dangerous? That argument is a bit like the argument for invading Afghanistan. They are soooooo dangerous exactly 0 people have been killed by Afghan terrorists whereas plenty have actually been killed by Christian fundamentalists.

  • @JuanMacready - War on terror More necessary than World War II? I fail to see your logic behind that staement. Or are you just repeating something you read in the Daliy Mail? I think you believe the corporate media a bit too much! I doubt YOU are a decent person judging by your awful comments by the way.
