The first ever scheduled GO train arrives in St. Catharines seven minutes late at 8:13am. It would be a very historical moment. CN 421 would blast by at 9:30am with yet another Illinois Central, well kinda. It was CN/IC 2720 in the lead. The GO train returning this time was 23 minutes late! First CN 338 would hold it up at Nelles Road on the way to Niagara Falls, and now on the way back the stupid bridge would hold it up. I am pretty pissed off with CN and the boats that they would do this on GO's first run. Saturday, June 27, 2009

  • Wow.......... that guy that wanted him to honk was gay lol. HE isnt smart. They arnt suppost to honk on Arrival. They are allowed on Departure but..........he is a idiot. COMMON SENSE!

  • lol. I see what you mean. Well, when there is so many people on the platform, the engineer is obviously not going to honk the horn. I have to admit though, i have done that that arm gesture before. Not in front of tons of people though!

  • THATS WHO YOU WERE! my girlfriend was taking this train we saw you were like

Who the fucks that guy over there and y the fuck does he have a camera ... lol ... sadly we split up but thats kinda funny ... i'll have to send her this link lol

  • lol! I know, i was the one with the camera. There was more than one though person with a camera though, i wonder how you spotted me? lol.

  • @joshtheyman This was when the GO train service just started. It wasn't recently. Did you even read the details of the video? Your saying i got burned? Wow...

  • It's a real pain to wait for boats, considering they come to a complete stop before the locks anyway - would it hurt to wait for the train instead? Also, whose big idea was it to remove that second track? It just creates bottlenecks.

I love the announcement about the "high speed trains!" In St. Catharines???

  • congrads on your first go train for the station!

  • I remember the train was to long for the platform and that platform is pretty big!!!!!!

  • i was on that train loco number #626

  • Awesome video. Let's see... you have two tracks and you have freight trains too. That's wild. Here in Barrie they pulled up the tracks north of Allandale long ago and freight trains run on a totally different track (Barrie-Collingwood Railway). Even when the train ran to Allandale there was only one track (once upon a time there were two). Last time I went to NF it was on Amtrak (Via Rail schedule, the Maple Leaf) .

  • @SporkMan2000 Yup i do. And no i am not causing railfans away from railfanning. Your wrong buddy. GO Transit does not honk at any platform for any purpose. Unless there is Construction, or People by the yellow line.

  • @coolguy676

do you really need to call him gay and an idiot over a hand jesture? Maybe he wanted to train to horn for his kid. Also why does common sense say that the engineer shouldn't sound his horn at a platform? many places require the horn when passing a platform, some places will also sound even if stopping. people like you are the ones who turn casual railfans away from the activity.

  • coooooooooooooooool.

  • Of Course i have to, but not infront of lots of people same as you :P.

Cant wait till Saturday. Gonna be a good day for trains!
