At a Special Meeting of the Avon School Board, the February resolution that charged the legal firm that represents the Avon Schools was rescinded by a 5-0 vote.

As of now, the Eminent Domain proceeding against Mary Jane Wolfe's land has been dropped.

Let's hope the Avon School Board will now engage with the community on coming up with the best plan to build a new Middle School.

this makes me ashamed to be a graduate of the avon school system...Mayor smith has our city all out of whack. It will be a disgrace if the board gets away with this. I bet the mayor has plenty of land he is not giving up for the school because of his own private interests. Knock the old middle school and build the new one in its place. Although I don't know you, I support you Mary.

I find it horrible that the Avon BOE would use these tactics to steal property in a bid to build a new school when many other options are available. Mrs. Wolfe's speech was heartfelt and poignant, but seems to have failed to move the landgrabbers from their nefarious intentions. Shameful.

Oh My Gosh... how disrespectful... the board members do not even look at her, or turn their chairs around.. how rude... They have their backs to her! Disgusting!! This video speaks volumes of the arrogance of this school board.. they should be ashamed, embarrassed and hiding their heads.
