Rocker Fiach from Dublin sang his Gaelic love song Sea Taim at minority language song contest Liet International 2009. Sea Taim is about a young lad who is down and out - and drunk - after his girlfriend left him.

Oh ya, I forgot it meant Raven too, thanks.

Keep up the good music, and the Irish songs too hopefully!

  • Fiach will do what Fiach will Dare!

  • @bleazerb actually Fiach means Raven. Fiach dubh ar guallain Cú Chulainn.

So it's actually different from Fiachra. One of my pet-hates is being called Fiachra. Also, once when I was about 6 an old friend of my mother's thought I was a girl....but that's a story for another day....;)

  • Cad a tallann iontach.

  • @bleazerb, go raibh mile maith agat! I appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge.

Hi. Sea Taim means 'Yes i Am' this song is about after breaking up with his girlfriend.

Also Fiach isint a nickname. Its a full name. Another Variation is Fiachra if thats what your thinking of. The name comes from the word hunting or hunter in Irish 'Fiach' also 'Fiachmhar' is Fierce in Irish.

I speak Irish as a first language so i just felt like passing the knowledge...

  • Very cool. What does Sea Taim mean - is it something like "I'm tired"?

Also is Fiach a nickname - is it short for a longer name? Thanks. Sorry for the pesky questions.
