There is no like Lee Roy Parnell. Saw him at Crown Casino in Melbourne Australia circa 2004 and wish he'd come back to our country.
-
oustanding singer, slide player and yes very underated..........
-
Amazing how we now live in such a dumbed down culture that artists who can play. write and sing like Leroy Parnell are marginalized, while artists, though decent people, like Kenny Chesney and Tim MacGraw, who couldn't write a song, if there name was write a song, and can probably barely manage to play with themeselves, get glorified............

One of my favourite country- songs. I have listened to this song in the 90s about a thousand times and it still hasn't lost anything of it's melancholic destiny.
-
can anyone give me the tab to she slide parts please
-
The man indeed! Playing slide and singing lead is really multi-tasking.
-
petebradt thanks for the correction, Bob McDill has written many good songs also. I have always been particularly fond of "Shot Full Of Love", but Dennis Linde was a very good country tunesmith too! And yes Lee Roy is one the absolute best slide guitarists in captivity!
-
Great Job Lee Roy...I've always liked this song...you are the man!

gypsy42279: Although Duane Allman was a great slide guitarist, he still was no Sonny Landreth! Ever hear of Landreth? I can't even think of the words to describe how great Landreth is at slide!
-
Bob McDill wrote the song. Duane was Duane, Lee Roy is Lee Roy.
If you've never seen a Lee Roy gig you don't have any clue as to his brilliance with the slide. Lee Roy is one of the greatest ever.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Dennis Linde write this really nice tune? I have lost track of how many Linde has written, but it's alot! L.R.P. puts his stamp on this! Not enough superalatives exist that could possibly do either one of these good ole boys JUSTICE! Thanks again BluesJammer for the posting, you de MAN! Also Thanks You Tube for being You Tube! Keep on ROCKIN' ON SHINDIGGERS! Peace Out and WORD UP!
