Announcing the formal end to America's combat mission in Iraq President Obama said that ending the mission was in the best interest of both America and Iraq. He said US forces made great sacrifices in Iraq and have now reached a new phase in history.* Now the U.S. military will be in an advisory and training role in support of Iraqi forces. That effort is to continue until the end of next year, but there are significant questions about what happens after that. *The chief of Kirkuk Police Forces, Major General Jamal Taher says Iraqi government should treat issues related to security forces such as training and shortages in numbers and weapons, if these issues are treated on priority bases, Iraqi forces will be ready to assume security.*
