This whole MOVIE is brillant!

Are you trying to tell me you didn't like this movie? Because saying Raging Bull is not a good movie is like saying the earth is flat. Or like saying the Detroit Lions are a good football team. Raging Bull is a great movie. It's a FACT

DeNiro isnt just playing as Jake LaMotta, he fuckin is Jake LaMotta
-
Scary. Just plain scary. DeNiro's portrayal of Lamotta was an acting miracle, up there with anything Brando ever did.

People calm down it was a great movie but he didnt like it so get over it. i sometimes just skip to the boxing scenes myself but i still like the movie. what got me though along with any spielberg film taking place in that time period is the atmosphere ather than the movie itself
-
@lordsahasrala88 yeah but it's all in the character. Pesci is not holding in the laugh himself so much as the character is. I don't wanna sound gay about it but Pesci has great acting instincts, he's a very underrated actor.

It was interesting enough for me to finish and all, but the character just doesn't resonate with me the way a boxer like, say, Joe Louis or Jack Johnson or Muhammad Ali would. The issues were domestic and personal and I didn't really feel moved by any of it.

It wasn't about the boxer more then it was a man on the road to self-destruction.

And said man was a boxer. That doesn't mean it focused on the sport of boxing, but it was undeniably about a boxer.
