Hi, Im Senthil Krishnapillai, Director of Product Management at Sybase. Companies today are looking to improve the productivity of their users using mobility as a key technology. The end users are constantly challenging IT organizations worldwide to really have the access to information, critical information that they need to keep the business moving from anywhere, anytime. Typically this information resides in a variety of different databases, applications like SAP, to files and various repositories inside various enterprises. The end users, in addition are also looking to access information from any device that suits their lifestyle; from IPhones to Blackberrys to WindowsMobile and other devices like that. There are three things that you need to know about Sybase Unwired Platform. First it allows developers to quickly develop innovative rich native application using the tools that they are very familiar with already, such as Visual Studio and Eclipse. These tools are used to develop applications for a variety of mobile devices and it is a tremendous cost savings from a companys standpoint for developing the first and the second and the third applications. Secondly, Sybase Unwired Platform presents a common method of looking at all enterprise data, be it from solutions like web services, or SAP package applications, custom applications or even document repositories. The developers can have a common view of all these data sources in what we call Mobile Business Objects, which is a very key, patented component from Sybase that really reduces the complexity of developing mobile application. Thirdly, it provides a common robust mobility infrastructure for IT to deploy, manage and support mobile applications once they are already deployed. It does so in a way that is consistent with the security infrastructure that is put in place by IT already, and also other infrastructures that are available such as authentication, authorization capabilities that have been put in place.
