THE THUNDERBOLTS--RAMROD TO EMDEN

War Department. Army Air Forces. (06/20/1941 - 09/26/1947)

ARC Identifier 2873 / Local Identifier 18-C-409. On an escort ("ramrod") of bombers to Emden, Germany, by P-47's of the 8th Air Force. Shows planning of the mission. Planes are prepared and pilots are briefed. Combat scenes show fighters downing German planes. Emden is bombed and the planes return to England. Pilots report on the mission to intelligence officers.

  • @Scharfschutzen1 No mate referring to you guys , my great uncle rodger was sunk in the atlantic by a uboat the investigated 2 days later in their raft by a fw200 condor it circled then preceded to strafe 4 liferafts full of defenceless, burned and halfdrowned men. By all accounts and I've talked to other old gentlemen who were in the raft with him it only lasted about 10 mins but they'd lost 12 men to machinegun fire , we all have ugly pasts mate the trick is not denying it

  • @Scharfschutzen1 same place as all the footage of similar acts on british territory or maybe its being held in the same place as the films showing english seamen being machinegunned in their rafts after being sunk :)
