Analyzing WES MONTGOMERY. Wes Montgomery's Intro Solo & Chord Solo of End Of A Love Affair.
Transcribed and documented by Bomberomusician with DeskTop Guitarist. Of course this transcription is at a slow tempo. How this man played these types of complicated, improvised chord solos at tempo is still a mystery. Check-Out the Video Response. I have trabscribed these two solos note for note chord for chord with DeskTop Guitarist at slower tempo. In the attempt to try and figure out what Wes was doing ? Of course these solos are like all of his others...totally improvisted and put down on the fret board straight from his GENIUS MUSICAL MIND.

  • a chord solo by wes is almost always one of the first things that comes to mind when people ask me about jazz guitar... it's just one of those signature sounds and images for me when i think of this artform

  • I've never been big on jazz. But holy fuck this guy was talented!!!!

  • i was just preparing myself to transcribe this awesome stuff...

    thank`s man

  • Thanks for posting this. It was on once before but had been removed.I feel very strongly that this session was entirely imprompu. Wes improvation skills are just overwhelming. He was such a fine player he could play to perfection any music idea he thought of
