Do u need a lighter

@smashly105 The gas burns off so the only byproduct is the heat. My suggestion is to get one of the small camping toast racks. They keep the bread at the optimum distance and also disperse the heat evenly to the bread.

I have 2 of these cookers and they are awesome value for money and really simple to use too...i just used mine this morning in a test to cook a vanilla cake in a big stew pot with a few rocks and tinfoil in a cake tin...totally awesome :)

@younghalen why dangerous

Anyone know if it's safe to cook toast with these butane stoves - with the bread directly on the butane flame?
I'm not sure if there's any chemicals in the flame which might be bad for you.

Be very carefully with these stoves, they can be very dangerous, the best brand with the best security system is Iwatani, these are the best.

I have used one of these as a primary cook source for 3 years. If the canister is seated properly, and you DON"T use a large pan, it is as safe as can be. I use about 2 canisters a week.

How long will one canister of the fuel last ?
All my canisters are running super cold during all cook ups. This is easy to check while it is going. We have even taken them to the brisbane ekka to cook our own steak burgers. Just remember they wont work if 1. the canister is not seated properly 2. the engaging lever is in the wrong position and 3 the reversable pot stand isnt the right way up. These three features make it ultra safe.

@leo1441 Hey leo1441, thanks for your feedback and tips. I own a couple of these and so do my family and we find them convenient, versatile and a handy cooking option for those on the move. I tend to agree that they are pretty safe and there are a lot of them out there being used and I haven't heard much negative feedback. Happy cooking, Cheers Justin.
