This was the college campus ministry that The Forerunner was birthed out of. I was converted to Christ this same year (1985) through a born-again experience in The Boston Worship Center in the Assemblies of God -- but I was not part of Maranatha until 1987. I came to Gainesville to work with The Forerunner in 1989 and the ministry closed soon after that, but I continued the vision of The Forerunner through the newspaper and various media projects.
I liked the explanation by Bob Weiner (founder of Maranatha) at the beginning that "dominion" comes through training the next generation. Dominion does not come through politics or "spiritual warfare" (such as long sessions of praying loudly) but through practical obedience to the Law of God as individuals in our families, churches, schools and businesses.
Thankfully, more Christians are beginning to resonate with that and it's no longer "radical" to speak of Christ's dominion over the nations -- even the principles are there among several of our presidential candidates, although I don't hold out much hope that we can ever do much from the top-down.
